The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially declared the results of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for August 2023.

  • Starting Date of Application: 27/04/2023
  • Last Date for Application: 26/05/2023, 11:59 PM
  • Correction Window: 29 May to 02 June 2023
  • OMR-Based Exam Date: 20/08/2023
  • Exam City Allocation: 01/08/2023
  • Admit Card Release: 18/08/2023, 12:00 AM
  • Answer Key Published: 15/09/2023
  • Result Declaration: 25/09/2023

Application Fees:

  • Single Paper:
  • General/OBC (NCL): 1000/-
  • SC/ST/PH: 500/-
  • Both Papers:
  • General/OBC (NCL): 1200/-
  • SC/ST/PH: 600/-
  • Payment Mode: Online Mode / Challan

Eligibility for Level-I:

  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name) OR
  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent (45% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002 OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed) OR Senior Secondary or its equivalent (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
  • Graduation (50% marks) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
  • Candidates with a Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution must undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by NCTE within two years of appointment as a primary teacher.

Eligibility for Level-II:

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • Graduation (50% marks) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) OR
  • Graduation (45% marks) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time OR
  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed OR
  • Graduation (50% marks) and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)
  • Any candidate having qualified the B.Ed. Program recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines, a person pursuing any teacher education courses recognized by the NCTE or the RCI is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.

Level-I (PRT) Exam Pattern:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language I: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language II: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Mathematics: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Environmental Studies (EVS): 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Total: 150 questions, 150 marks
  • Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes

Level-II (TGT) Exam Pattern:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language I: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language II: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Math, Science OR Social Science / Social Studies: 60 questions, 60 marks
  • Total: 150 questions, 150 marks
  • Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes
